Transition to Vet Prep to First Semester

I highly encourage every student to return home after your first four-ish months here on island.
Because...

1) you will want to go home and see your friends and family. That annoying thing that your brother or sister does would, is now something you miss. You can't wait for your mom's hugs and dad's homemade chili!

2) you will miss your pets more than you imagined. I need to just hug my animals and snuggle with them. It will deeply sadden you to your core that your clothes aren't covered in fur and yes... I am aware of how crazy that sounds but I can promise you that at the end of your first semester on island if you don't miss having pet hair on your pants that I will buy you lunch!

3) you will home cooking! I'm talking hardcore missing home-cookin'! Dad know that I fully accept some homemade cornbread and chili when I get back to Kansas :)

4) You will want to return things that you thought you HAD TO HAVE! but after the first few weeks, you realized that you haven't even used it once and probably won't, so you take it back home on the first break.

5) on the other hand you also realize that you forget one or two things.....okay maybe a few more things than that! but hey you're human and how where you suppose to know everything that you would personally need? Don't worry, everyone always forgot something, so you aren't alone.

When you get home, you will have to fight, what I call, "Pre-Apocalyptic eating"! Pre-Apocalyptic eating is when you eat all the things you have been missing while being on the island and you justify eating everything by saying to yourself, "well, this will be the last time I will get to eat this certain thing for a long time". It's a dangerous way to live but just be aware of it! I gained weight over my break because of Pre-Apocalyptic eating! hahaha

You all can do whatever you want, just thought I'd share my struggles! Another thing to remember that when you get home, you will just want to stay in your house and eat take-out and watch Netflix buuuuuutttttt everyone else will want you to come out and do something every minute! Don't be snappy, remember they missed you and just want to spend time with you because they missed you so much!

Most of all, just enjoy your break and spend it with people that you've been missing so much.

Here are some pictures from my break :)
